I was worried about the translations in other languages. But when i played it earlier, the poems translated in my language, italian, were perfect. Even for me it’s a buy to own and if I get around to playing it — I’ll get around to it. The review has actually made me want to get this game after thinking it wouldn’t be for me (despite previously acknowledging it’d probably be interesting for others). This post highlighted games with LGBT+ topics, that’s it. You can change shovel knights gender and shield knights gender as well.

Cardis is tough as nails and quick-witted, and she holds her own alongside the massive names who are vying for her love and attention. The Nintendo Switch offers games from a variety of genres to appeal to all kinds of gamers. These games provide many things that a lot of other games might lack, such as interesting character interactions, story and of course, romance. Stardew Valley is one of the most celebrated life sims out there and while not strictly a dating sim, players do have the opportunity to romance and marry an NPC from the local village.
Love Letter from Thief X
Travelling through time, you watch stories of abuse, grief, heartbreak, murder, and at the centre of it all, a witch’s curse — but eventually you’ll come to the truth of the whole thing. Fata Morgana is a tragic story of rejection, othering, and discovering one’s true identity, even if it means losing everything else. The teens at Ikenfell’s wizarding school range from «discovering their sexuality» to being out-and-out flirts, which is a refreshing take on the «all teens are nervous about kissing» trope. It’s also one of the only games we’ve ever played to feature neo-pronouns, with one of the teachers using ze/zir. An otome game inspired by farming-sim genre classics such as Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley and more. Collar x Malice is riddled with «instant bad ends» that make the game play like a mean choose your own adventure book from the 90s.
It’s been an enlightening experience, and I haven’t been met with nearly as much hostility for being open about my views as I previously thought. I’ve still had people call me hurtful names and tell me what an evil person I am. But for every person who does that, there’s at least 3 others willing to listen to where I’m coming from and say that even if they disagree with me, they still respect me.
I cannot wait until my older kid gets home, to get her to play these stories — which are kid-friendly, unlike the main game. The problem is, DDLC’s subversion of said expectations largely fails, if only bc — aside from the guy who compulsively buys every olosho anime VN dating sims without even reading a review — everyone is expecting it. By three quarters of the way in, it became difficult for me to escape the feeling that the writers of DDLC were dark and meta just for the sake of being dark and meta.
Nurse Love Syndrome
Never knew I’d play something that would knock The Last of Us off the #1 spot. If I’m sounding like I hated the game, I don’t hate it at all. I wouldn’t have continued playing if I thought the game was bad.
The most egregious of these is the text size, which is absolutely minuscule in handheld mode, and not much better docked. Good luck if your eyes are any older than the girls in the game; you’re going to be squinting for days. Set in a town called Rainbow Bay, Best Friend Forever is so bright and upbeat that you can practically feel the warm sunshine coming through the screen. In the PAX West demo, you arrive in town looking for a fresh start and find yourself cheerfully talked into a pet adoption event. The game then walks you through caring for your pupper, which plays a just as big role in the story of looking for romance. The pet simulator system is just as enticing as the narrative, combining to make this a one-of-a-kind game full of warm fuzzies.
Monster Prom
There is only one love in this story, but the journey makes it compelling. Your days are dreamless and mundane until, one night, you notice a star sparkling in the heavens. Suddenly, the beautiful gods of the stars appear before you.
You can do the whole marriage and family thing, or be a real Casanova and work your way around the neighbourhood. Image via Bloom DigitalThrough LongStory, Bloom Digital crafted a story that depicts young, queer love. Create your own character and choose their gender, and you’ll be thrown into Weasel Heights as the new kid in school. You’ll encounter cliques and bullies as you navigate through school drama. As in real life, your dynamics with your friends will always be changing based on the choices you make. Attend school dances and build healthy relationships, and get a second chance to do school correctly.
@KateGray congrats on writing the most compelling review i have ever read. Bought the game and look forward to playing it over the 3 day weekend. How disturbing / gruesome is the horror content in this game? I’ve played the Zero Escape games and Corpse Party, and found the former to be just about within my tolerance threshold while the latter went beyond the level of good taste for me.
#16 Emily is Away A brand new story set on an old-new social media known as Facenook. Customize your profile, make friends, create relationships or break them. Create your own online persona with many conversation options and multiple endings.
My personal favourites are Marianne and Sylvain, Ash and Petra, and Felix and Annette. This allows for so many options for players who enjoy matchmaking, and seeing how their units fare after the war’s conclusion. Many of us fondly remember the days of high school and the wild thrill of those early flirtations. We fondly recall all that came with those wild early days. The penultimate moment of any high school career is the prom. What could be more exciting than reliving those glory days with a twist?
It allows you to trace two periods in the life of a young Japanese — the last months of school and a few years of early adulthood. Both stages are filled with numerous dramas and fantastic elements. The gameplay boils down mainly to following the plot and making decisions. It tells the story of a young girl suffering from amnesia, who has the opportunity to get involved with one of the five men during the game. While playing, the player passively follows the story and at key moments makes decisions that are important for the story being told.
In order to earn money in the game, players will need to hustle and nurture a bustling farm. Kale, strawberries, pumpkins, and grapes are just some of the crops that can be grown in Kitaria Fables. With its gorgeous visuals, cute characters, and standard farming mechanics, Kitaria Fables is one of the best farm games that came out in 2021. Created by sole developer ConcernedApe, Stardew Valley has one of the strongest farming mechanics found in modern video games.
